Kamil Agi, Ph.D.President & CEO

For over 25 years, Dr. Agi has led the development of advanced (IoT-based) technology solutions for law enforcement, firefighters, and the military through his commercialization of the first digital & miniaturized analog wireless video transmission system for first responders. He identified the core IP, negotiated license agreements, and is now leading the commercialization of an AI-powered, IoT-driven, emission sensor platform for the global energy transition. Dr. Agi has provided consulting, advisory and commercialization expertise to organizations including DARPA, MIT, STANFORD, UNM and NSF. He is a founding member of the Peace Engineering Consortium and speaks globally as a recognized thought leader on pollution monitoring, real-time actionable intelligence, and next-generation IoT. Dr. Agi received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He received his MBA from the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA Program and his MS and BS from NYU-Poly. Earlier in his career, he served as a research engineer at the Center for High Technology Materials at the University of New Mexico. A Senior Member of the IEEE, Dr. Agi received the 2008 Outstanding Entrepreneur award from the IEEE.

Robert IanInnovation & Marketing Director

Robert’s outreach & marketing efforts have created global engagement for SensorComm’s NET-ZERO measurement technology designed for the specific emerging needs of the global energy transition. Results include amplified customer discovery under a recent DOE project. Completion of Wi-NOx™ testing on four continents. Solution partner program advancement. Market validation & intelligence. Lead generation & pilot program recruitment. Robert has been marketing to organizational leaders at the technical, management, CEO, and Board level for over 25 years. His expertise includes work with technology, sales, and manufacturing organizations at the Fortune 500 level, including government agencies and industrial trade groups. He’s developed bottom-up marketing plans and established a wide range of situation appraisals for public & private companies. Prior to joining SensorComm, Robert’s consulting firm delivered over 3000 speaking presentations to corporations & associations worldwide.

Prof. Ramiro JordanInterim CTO

Dr. Ramiro Jordan is a scientist, innovator, educator and entrepreneur. He is a faculty member of the Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) department at the University of New Mexico and is currently the Interim-CTO of SensorComm. Dr. Jordan has built and tested high-end servers configured for intense signal processing, AI/Machine Learning, Quantum Computing simulations, and storage. His research activities include sustainability, Smart Grid, cognitive radio, and multi-dimensional signal processing. He is driving innovative curricula development programs such as Peace Engineering. Dr. Jordan is a founder of the Ibero-American Science and Technology Education Consortium (ISTEC), a successful non-profit organization created in1990 with the mission to accelerate STEM education, R&D and entrepreneurship in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. ISTEC is comprised of over 100 educational, research, industrial, and multilateral organizations throughout the Americas and Iberia, and is now reaching into the global arena.

Donna KoechnerProject Management Director

Donna is Project Management Director at SensorComm where she focuses on manufacturing, production, and supply chain integrations. She has over 17 years of international experience supporting entrepreneurial activities, and creating & leading technical teams. Her background includes working in system design, characterization, installation, software development, hardware integration, and quality assurance. Donna holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, and an M.S in Electrical & Computer Engineering from UNM. In addition to her work at SensorComm, Donna is Program Manager for Peace Engineering – ECHO, a founding member of the Peace Engineering Consortium, and a research faculty at the University of New Mexico. She is passionate about the environment, conservation, human rights, and sustainable development, and is actively involved in community service & conservation initiatives.

James SmithSenior Engineer

James Smith has 15 years of experience in microcontroller & embedded programming. At SensorComm, he is responsible for device integration on tailpipe emissions monitoring (Wi-NOx™), and on hardware & firmware for the Multi-Gas Sensor Platform. Prior to joining SensorComm, he was instrumental in developing a video transmitter product line, DVR systems, and the first IoT-based pill box for medical adherance. James has an M.S.E.E from the University of New Mexico with a focus on digital communications, machine learning, and image processing. He has a B.S. in electrical engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology.

Dr. Lok-kun TsuiAdvisor to SensorComm | UNM Center for Micro-Engineered Materials

The Sensor Team is led by Dr. Lok-kun Tsui who is a Research Assistant Professor at UNM Center for Micro-Engineered Materials. He previously developed R&D-100 award-winning mixed potential gas sensors for automotive emissions analysis. Dr. Tsui developed the world’s first artificial neural network algorithms for mixed potential signal deconvolution. He advises SensorComm on rapid prototyping of sensor materials by additive manufacturing and development of artificial neural network algorithms for gas identification and quantification. 

Prof. Fernando GarzonAdvisor to SensorComm | Center Director, UNM Center for Micro-Engineered Materials

Dr. Garzon, Fellow & Former President of the Electrochemical Society, is a Professor and Center Director of the UNM Center for Micro-Engineered Materials. He originally developed the long-life mixed potential electrochemical sensor technology. As the Sensor Team Leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory, he has won two R&D-100 awards in sensor development. Dr. Garzon advises SensorComm on the development of electrochemical devices, specifically on materials suitable for use in species detection of natural gas & their interferents.
