Temperature Pre-Screening and Monitoring for Schools

SAFETY:  In the wake of COVID-19, there is a significant need to keep students safe. Recent CDC guidelines (employers – May 11, 2020) include pre-screening and regular monitoring of temperature as recommended safety protocols. We believe responsible school districts, at minimum, will include individualized temperature thresholds as a baseline for their protocols.

CDC recommends schools develop local community guidelines which may (or may not) be as strict as CDC employer guidelines that include pre-screening and regular monitoring. We believe responsible school districts, at minimum, will include CDC guidance for employers. Specifically: Pre-Screen: Employers [schools] should measure the employee’s [student’s]  temperature and assess symptoms prior to them starting work [school]. Ideally, temperature checks should happen before the individual enters the facility. Regular Monitoring: As long as the employee [student] doesn’t have a temperature or symptoms, they should self-monitor under the supervision of their employer’s [school’s] occupational health program.

Participating schools will internally administer a database of student names and corresponding ID numbers. Only the ID numbers will be provided to SCT Healthcare Solutions, who will acquire temperature data, perform analytics, predictive modeling, and correlate to respective ID number. By isolating student data and student name, individual privacy is protected.
